The earlier brides did not have any guest books to sign but you can make an activity out of it for fun and remembrance. There are many activities for signing of guest books.
One is the guests are asked to sign the picture of the bride and groom and then later it is framed and hanged in a suitable location in the new house of the couple.
A formal engagement photo can be used for this signing and it can be later kept to show the people. Many couples just put a temporary photo of their and then later replace it with the weeding photo.
If you want, your guests to sign the guest book keep different color markers and place it near the book, where they can see and ready for the signature.
Another option is the guests can sign their own picture when they are entering the wedding hall. Alternatively, you can arrange a cartoonist to make cartoon of all the people entering and making them sign their caricatures.
The person in charge of the guestbook signature should also keep ready an album or a scrapbook where in all the signed photos are kept.
In case some of the guests miss the book kept in a corner you can either ask them to go there are sign it or you can bring the book to them for their autographs.
The other option instead of photos is to send the guests a piece of paper and are asked to write something about the couple and the same could be compiled in a guest book. To ensure that the paper is returned to you make sure you enclose the self-address stamp with the paper. This can be added in a scrapbook and presented to the couple on their wedding day.
The other option is to give each guest a piece of paper to decorate and also write something good about the couple and the paper could be of the same size of a photograph which can be again made into an album or a scrap book.
The paper can be sent to the guest’s house with the invitation and they are asked to write memories of the bride and groom and add photos etc to the paper. This then can be presented to the bride and the groom.

The lighting of the unity candle is a relatively recent addition to the traditional wedding ceremony. It symbolizes the union of two individuals becoming one in commitment. At a certain point in the ceremony (typically between the exchange of vows and the formal declaration of marriage), the bride and groom light a candle together.
The unity candle involves two candles one with the groom and one with the bride they together burn a candle together, which is a central candle. This tradition represents coming together of two families. In some of the homes, the family members of the bride and groom are invited to join the unity candle. The family members light the candle of the bride and groom respectively and they in turn burn the Unity candle. This also symbolizes coming together of two families.
The traditional method involves only the bride and groom, but to involve all the members are invited to light the candle. They are asked to light their candle with the Unity candle. This ceremony involves all the family and friends and again it symbolizes the coming together of family and friends. This is a great way to involve all the guests in the ceremony.
If the wedding is big, this will take a lot of time so the other method is at the wedding reception the guests when enter get light a candle and put it in the candleholder placed on their tables. This candle is also known as Votive and the candleholder as Votive holder. The Votive or candleholder can be treated as a wedding favor, which will in turn add to the décor to the wedding reception.
If the bride choose to reduce the time spent on the ceremony can leave out the ceremony of Unity candle altogether. Alternatively, they can make a part of their reception like mentioned earlier. The unity candle can be lit while the short prayer is being said or just before the cake is being cut and the unity candle can add to decorate the cake table.
Many brides and groom choose to have this tradition of lighting a unity candle and incorporate it into their weeding plans.

The weddings in the family is always fun. If you have had a wedding in your family, you probably know how much planning goes on in that. The wedding can be fun if planned properly.
The guests usually arrive earlier, they come from far places, and to make them comfortable and entertained is the main concern of the family. Apart, from the planning for the wedding, you need to plan some activities when the guests arrive. The activities should not be very strenuous, as they have just traveled from places.
If most of your guests have children, you will have to plan a separate activity for the children or do some activities. If the children are very small, you can ask the help of a baby sitter who can take care of the children. However, if the children are little older they all can get together and play some games. Alternatively, you can hire a DJ or a magician, which will keep children occupied.
For the adults you can arrange a match of Tennis or golf in the local club, you can also opt for manicures for the women, which will be relaxing and make them feel pampered.
If most of your guests are local then you can plan a bachelorette party. You can head to a hotel or a restaurant where they can have fun. Alternatively, you can arrange a party at home, which will help the guests on both the sides to know each other.
There can be fun activities, which will involve everyone like playing Chinese whispers, singing songs etc. The other activity if all people are local to make a parcel with all the knick-knacks inside like a CD or romantic song or any thing, which is liked by the couple. The parcel goes from house to house and once it is full, it is packed and handed over to the couple. In this case, each house should know that the parcel is being circulated around and they have to add something to it. This will keep the guests busy for a week or two.
When you are choosing the activities, keep in mind the guests you are going to have. The activity plan should suit everyone and nobody should be left behind.
